Attwood Tsunami Manual Bilge Pump Replacement Cartridge (Sports) I purchased the whole pump kit and the pump cartridge. At the present time, the pump is working fine. The cartridge will make it easy to replace the unit when it fails. |

Attwood Corporation Float Switch Automatic With Cover (Sports) I have installed the Attwood Float switch on my boat about a month ago. So far so good. It has kept my boat dry during several good rain storms. The best part is that it is Made in America, not China. |

Attwood Tsunami Aerator Pump (Sports) I decided to piece together a cheaper ballast pump kit than if you buy the Fly High Tsunami , also available on Amazon:[...]I bought this pump, soldered on a 12V cigarette plug with a long wire, purchased some 1′ hose, two hose clamps, and the quick disconnect adapters, and have the same kit for about $50 less. Pump really moves some water, and is fully submersible.These pumps are also popular if you want to do integrated ballast pumps on your boat, though I will be going with the more expensive reversible pumps instead of aerator pumps when I tackle that project this winter. It’s too bad the marketing is all for the fishing guys, as the wakeboarding / wake surfing crowd buy a lot of these pumps, and usually in multiple quantities. |

Attwood Corporation 4202-7 Automatic Float Switch (Automotive) The idea of this switch is to allow the bilge pump to come on automatically when the water level in the bilge gets to a certain level (1 or 2 inches approx) and then stay on until the floating actuator drops back down as the water in the bilge falls below that level. The problem with this switch is that it won’t shut off when it should. Every time it has come on, it has failed to shut off when it should. It continues to run, pumping air instead of water, as it was intended to do. The way it was manufactured there just isn’t enough floating weight in it to drop back down and shut off when the pump starts pumping air instead of water. As a result, it continues to run until either you hear it still running, or your battery runs down whichever occurs first! (fortunately attwood bilge pumps draw so little juice, it runs forever on a fully charged 12v batter ). If wired directly to the battery as the instructions say to do, the only way to shut it off is to reach down into the bilge and pull up on the switch, or disconnect the battery cable or the bilge pump wire from the battery. (unless you wire it to a on/off dashboard switch).Some might say I didn’t follow the instructions when I installed it – but I did, to the letter.Using a little ‘mickey mouse’ technology however, I was able to get it to work by attaching about a 1/2oz fishing weight (I glued it on the top of the switch using a waterproof marine sealer). Now it works fine.It makes me wonder how something like this can get to the market when so much depends on this little device. Apparently Attwood doesn’t check these in real life situations, which to me, is a little scary. |

Attwood Digital Bilge Switch, 12 Volt (Sports) this is a differant type system than all the others on the market.was a little confusing on hook up as i have a control panel in the bilge area for the bilge pump,auto switch,and 2 live well pumps.it is hooked up now and seems to work really well.the only thing i would change is the depth of water it takes in the bilge to turn on.not a real problem though as i seldom get any water in there anyway.it is a really neat system. i hooked it up with a sunami 800 gph pump .very happy! |

Rule 24 Marine Rule 360 Marine Bilge Pump (360-GPH, 12-Volt) (Sports) I run two Rule pumps on my 22′ I/O Party Barge.An automatic for the bilge, and one on the right log (transom style) for my under seat live well.The bilge unit has never failed nor given a moments grief. I turn it on when the boat gets launched, and it stays ready all the time the barge is in the river or lakes. It cycles periodically for a few seconds to remind me it’s there, and has saved the engine when a water pump bolt came out.The live well unit has been replaced once, because it got smashed backing off of a beach.I tried another manufacturers pump to finish the vacation, but it didn’t work near as well as the Rule .Once home the right Rule was put on and has been on many fishing and fun trips without any trouble.A spare rides in the rigging storage under one of the seats. |
